Successful candidates earn an additional $2.00 per hour for an unrestricted CDL-A license as well as an additional $3.00 per hour for ASE certifications.</p> <p>Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; or 4 - 10 hours shifts with a rotation each week of Monday through Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm; overtime and weekends as needed.</p> <p>This is a union position covered through Teamsters Local 294 Union.</p> <p>Candidates will be required to understand the following operational needs:</p> <ul> <li>Perform all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. </li><li>Perform vehicle safety inspections. </li><li>Perform road service work as needed. </li><li>Complete proper paperwork as required. </li><li>Other duties as assigned or necessitated by change or condition. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>The employee is exposed to the weather conditions as the seasons dictate when road testing vehicles for maintenance and inspection purposes.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Employee must have at least a combination of four years vehicle maintenance and repair experience and/or equivalent maintenance training. </li><li>CDL-A or B preferred; must be willing to obtain post-employment. </li><li>NY inspection license required/ability to obtain. </li><li>Must be able to communicate with supervisors, drivers and fellow employees for vehicle problems and safety. </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. </li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. </li><li>Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations to analyze and solve vehicle problems. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge in the following areas is required:</p> <p>Air Brakes, Air Suspension, Tires, Climate Control, Electrical Accessories on Trailers, Trailer/Reefer Preventative Maintenance.
