<p>Maintain continued competence in assigned and related areas. Maintain a good working relationship with students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. Assist in the college's recruitment and retention efforts. Assist with college governance by serving periodically on college committees. Observe college rules/regulations and state guidelines appropriate to faculty responsibilities. </p> <p>Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating and Celebrating.</p> <ul> <li>Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students. </li><li>Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns. </li><li>Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions. </li><li>Perform on-site clinical practice teaching at assigned hospitals. </li><li>Works a minimum of 35 hours per week, which includes 15 classroom hours, 10-office or student contact hours, and 10 hours as needed by the instructor. </li><li>Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested. </li><li>Furnish each student with a course syllabus listing performance objective, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance policies, and office phone and e-mail access. </li><li>Function as a member of faculty committees in developing the instructional program and educational philosophy of the college. </li><li>Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, and Department Chairs and Director of Nursing unless excused by the administrator in charge. </li><li>Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled. </li><li>Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus. </li><li>Utilize evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification. </li><li>Keep accurate and up-to-date records. </li><li>Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates. </li><li>Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility. </li><li>Assist and counsel's students as needed including during office and campus times. </li><li>Utilize materials and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments. </li><li>Regularly examines content of assigned courses and recommends changes to curriculum committee as needed. </li><li>Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy. </li><li>Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President Academic Affairs and Dean. </li><li>Participate in Commencement ceremonies and Nursing pinning ceremonies. </li><li>Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests. </li><li>Teach on multiple campus sites as needed. </li><li>Competent in computer proficiency (Coursework, grading, as well as basic Microsoft Office knowledge) </li><li>Create/follow current Faculty Learning Outcomes (FLOs) as instructed by AVP General Education & Transfer Programs </li><li>Ability to demonstrate the four College Service Excellence Standards of respect, competence, responsiveness, and collaboration when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>Demonstrated computer technology proficiency in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Teams, & PowerPoint) </li><li>Effectively communicate in both a virtual and physical environment </li><li>Ability to work well in a team environment </li><li>Ability to successfully demonstrate knowledge and expertise in applied field </li><li>Master's degree in Nursing </li><li>Doctorate in Nursing preferred </li><li>Two (2) most recent years of medical/surgical clinical experience </li></ul> <p>Educational Credentials (Foreign Degrees)</p> <p>Applicants with foreign transcripts earned outside the United States must submit an evaluation from a credentialing evaluation service recognized by a U.S.-based accrediting body (such as NACES or AICE) to verify that the education/degree meets the minimum requirements for the position. Official transcripts, along with certified English translations if applicable, must be provided within 30 days of hire as a condition of employment.</p>
