<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing dental hygiene services to the patients at MMHI including:</p> <ul> <li>performing preventive dentistry procedures </li><li>providing assistance to the dentist during examinations and treatment/procedures </li><li>maintaining dental office equipment, records, and supplies </li><li>providing dental health education to patients </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting pay is between $39.00-$42.25 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.</p> <p>Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule/range 06/63.</p> <p>An add-on of $1.00 per hour may be paid for bilingual skills in Spanish or Arabic.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified candidates must have:</p> <ul> <li>License or *eligibility for licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Wisconsin (WI) by the WI Department of Safety and Professional Services. Selected candidate must be licensed by the time of appointment. </li><li>Eligibility means those who have finished two (2) years of schooling, have passed the board examination, and are in the process of applying for their licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of WI. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified candidates will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>One or more years of experience as a certified Dental Hygienist. </li><li>Experience working in a dental assistant role providing first assist to a dentist for routine extractions and fillings. </li><li>Experience using a scheduling system to triage patients appropriately. </li><li>Experience with Joint commission regulations and site visits. </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish or Arabic.
