<p>I. Position Purpose: The Peer Tutor Student Employee assists other students to build relevant skills to prepare them for their future career.</p> <p>II. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide peer tutoring assistance to Hocking College students. Collaboration: Coordinate with lead instructors in the applicable subject areas. Correspondence: Check and respond to emails in a timely manner. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including the time and topics covered. Other duties as assigned: Other duties may include assisting students with accessing course materials, referring students to other campus services, and assisting the instructor with course related activities.</p> <p>III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills Full-time enrollment.</p> <p>Meets satisfactory academic status.</p> <p>Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.</p> <p>Minimum B grade in the course/subject to be tutored.</p> <p>Recommendation from an instructor in the course/subject to be tutored.</p> <p>English tutors must have completed English 1510 (or equivalent) with an A.</p> <p>Strong subject knowledge in content being tutored. Ability to listen and engage positively.</p> <p>Ability to answer and explain the questions/subject matter clearly.</p> <p>Ability to engage students for discussion. Basic computer skills/literacy.</p> <p>Promptness and dependability.</p> <p>Takes initiative and works independently.</p> <p>Motivated by student success and able to motivate students to come to tutoring.</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)</p>
