<p>Gr. New Bedford Regional Voc Tech High School</p> <p>HEAD VARSITY WRESTLING COACH</p> <p>SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Must have experience or a desire to work in a diverse school district </li><li>General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures </li><li>Knowledge of MIAA rules </li><li>Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student athletes </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Essential duties of this position include the following: </li><li>Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policy(ies) and </li><li>Supports the success of all GNBVT sports </li><li>Assists instruction and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement in wrestling. </li><li>Manage and supervise athletic activities, fundraisers, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. </li><li>Supports the Athletic Department's initiative of character development within our student- </li><li>Travels with student athletes on the team bus both to and from </li><li>Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time manner for themselves and assistant coaches. </li><li>Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy </li><li>Supervises students in locker rooms after practices and at home/away games and ensures appropriate </li><li>Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all </li><li>Works with athletic trainer to ensure that medical and safety requirements are </li><li>Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, assistant coaches, and officials and resolves conflict in a professional manner. </li><li>Conducts & attends pre-season parent meeting and end of season awards night for the wrestling </li><li>Ensures that all assistant coaches work together toward a common goal within the wrestling program and develops relationships with feeder schools/leagues. </li><li>Completes end of season evaluations for all assistant </li><li>Works with Coordinator of Athletics to maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within the </li><li>Appropriately maintains and secures confidential student records and </li><li>Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with students, parents, community, staff and the media </li><li>Completes and maintains appropriate certifications as required, including MIAA Coaches Certification </li><li>Other duties may be assigned </li></ul> <p>Mission and Values.
