<p>The Plant Conservation Program is a diverse program whose mission is to conserve the native plant species of North Carolina in their natural habitats through the implementation of the N.C. Plant Protection and Conservation Act and subsequent regulations statewide as mandated by the N.C. General Assembly. </p> <p>The primary purpose of this position is to provide critical support to the NCDA&CS Plant Industry Division Plant Conservation Program. Duties included but are not limited to: Administrative support to Plant Conservation Program staff, such as correspondence, travel arrangements, and meeting planning. Registering Ginseng licenses and renewals in the Ag Regulatory portal system. Reconciling checks and online credit card payments, preparing transmittals. Cooperative Agreement, Grant, and Contract Management. N.C. Plant Conservation Board and N.C. Plant Conservation Scientific Committee support.</p> <p>The work is performed in an open area office setting, analyzing data on a computer monitor for accuracy, filing reports, and the employee will not be required to stand or walk for long periods of time, nor lift loads more than 10 lbs. The employee will be under stress answering the telephone and emails to communicate with the public and assist them with their questions or direct them to the correct Plant Industry, Plant Protection, Plant Conservation staff member.
