<p>This role is responsible for updating WTNH's website and mobile app, curating high-performing content, crafting homepage layouts driven by data, and helping to report news -- everything from quick-hit local stories to breaking news and enterprise reports. This role will work on building a loyal local audience by being responsive to traffic patterns and audience interest while serving as a steward of our brands. A strong knowledge of social media platforms is expected. This role may include working early mornings, nights, and/or weekends.</p> <p>This is not an on-air position.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Report and write news quickly and accurately</p> </li><li> <p>Distribute content on WTNH.com and WTNH's social media platforms</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor all forms of media and hunt for newsworthy content</p> </li><li> <p>Pitch and write enterprise stories that stand out from competition</p> </li><li> <p>Clip videos from newscasts and create digital-original video clips</p> </li><li> <p>Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Push engaging and breaking stories on mobile app</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</p> </li><li> <p>2 years of experience in digital content and journalism</p> </li><li> <p>Must have attention to detail, copy editing, grammatical and basic AP Style writing skills</p> </li><li> <p>Highly detail-oriented with excellent news judgment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multi-task in times of breaking news, severe weather, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Adobe Analytics and Chartbeat experience a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere experience a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Understands social media's importance in reporting stories and delivering traffic</p> </li><li> <p>Can communicate, coordinate and collaborate with other members of the newsroom</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule flexibility</p> </li><li> <p>Responds well to feedback</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly meets measurements of success</p> </li><li> <p>Understands goals and regularly works towards achieving them</p> </li></ul> <p>This is an hourly position.
