The Pharmacist has responsibility for pharmacy systems, procedures and organization, stock purchase and control, pharmaceutical vendor liaison, and technical staff supervision and training. The Pharmacist is responsible for implementation of the departmental and organizational goals and strategic plan.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>EDUCATION</p> <p>Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.</p> <p>Other: Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy</p> <p>Other: Postgraduate training/education is desirable.</p> <p>CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE</p> <p>PHARMR-Registered Pharmacist</p> <p>PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:</p> <p>Three years of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital or organized health care environment, preferably in a supervisor position.</p> <p>SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE</p> <p>Able to use considerable independent judgment and discretion as well as the ability to act effectively in dynamic situations.</p> <p>Thorough understanding of California Pharmacy Law, State and Federal Controlled Substances Acts, Title 22 regulations, JCAHO requirements and Sutter policies as applicable to the Hospital, Out Patient, Clinic, Psychiatric clinic, SNF, and Home Health Care branches of the organization.</p> <p>Understanding of contemporary pharmacy practice including pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacology, compounding (drugs and parenteral solutions) and dispensing practice, toxicology, drug compatibility, drug information and pharmacy data systems.</p> <p>Demonstrated competency in provision of pharmaceutical care to infants, toddlers, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients considering their physical, psychosocial and cultural needs.</p> <p>Knowledge of health care related changes occurring locally and nationally which may affect the practice of pharmacy.</p> <p>Computer and typing experience essential.</p> <p>The Pharmacist must possess the ability to coordinate pharmacy services with other programs/departments maintaining effective working relationships.</p> <p>Must have the ability to assemble, maintain, operate, adjust, and make minor repairs to a variety of pharmacy equipment.</p> <p>Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p> <p>Written and verbal communication skills in Spanish are desirable.</p> <p>Must possess group leadership skills.</p> <p>Job Shift:</p> <p>Varied</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>Full Time</p> <p>Shift Hours:</p> <p>10</p> <p>Days of the Week:</p> <p>Variable</p> <p>Weekend Requirements:</p> <p>Every other Weekend</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Yes</p> <p>Unions:</p> <p>Yes</p> <p>Position Status:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Weekly Hours:</p> <p>40</p> <p>Employee Status:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines.</p> <p>Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.</p> <p>Pay Range is $87.23 to $100.11 / hour</p> <p>The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
