<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Staff Associate</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Office of the President</p> <p>PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, MA</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of Executive Operations</p> <p>POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, non-unit professional with benefits.</p> <p>PAY RATE: $61,800 - $64,928.63 annually</p> <p>STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>Reporting to the Director of Executive Operations, the Staff Associate for the Office of the President provides confidential administrative support to the Director, the Title IX/Affirmative Action Coordinator, and to the President and serves as a liaison between the President's Office and students, faculty, staff, alumni, the Bristol Community College Foundation, legislators and the community, among other constituents. The Staff Associate to the President's Office oversees administrative aspects of the daily operation of the President's Office and serves in place of the Director of Executive Operations, as needed.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Act as the first line of contact for the Office of the President. </li><li>Provide administrative support including calendar management, travel coordination, correspondence drafting, budget reconciliation, accounts payable coordination and meeting logistics. </li><li>Assist in the coordination of Board of Trustees meetings, including preparing agendas and materials. </li><li>Supports the Director of Executive Operations and the Title IX/Affirmative Action Coordinator on various initiatives and strategic projects through internal departments and external partners. </li><li>Assist in the facilitation of event planning for Office of the President including room reservations, set-up work orders, and catering for college events such as Commencement, Legislative Breakfast, and Inauguration. </li><li>Maintain organized records and files, including confidential and sensitive documents including coordination of website updates as needed </li><li>Monitor key deadlines and assist in tracking progress on projects and initiatives. </li><li>Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries as needed using Microsoft Office 365 and college management systems. </li><li>Uphold professionalism and discretion in all interactions while promoting the mission and values of the college. </li><li>Contribute to an inclusive, service-oriented office environment that reflects the goals of the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda. </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Office of the President. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of an associate's degree. </li><li>Minimum of one year of related experience as an administrative assistant or similar. </li><li>*An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and video conferencing software. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong customer service skills. </li><li>Demonstrated dependability in the work environment, with a strong attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree in a business-related field. </li><li>Three years of experience as an administrative assistant or similar. </li><li>Understanding of academic institutions and culture, which may be demonstrated through professional work experience in higher education. </li><li>Demonstrated project management experience. </li><li>Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action:</p> <p>Bristol Community College is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, veteran or military status, genetic information, gender identity, or sexual orientation in its programs and activities as required by Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable statutes and college policies.
