Whether someone is sick with a cold or has an ear infection, Cleveland Clinic is here to help. Patients have walk-in convenience and treatment as soon as possible by outstanding caregivers.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am - 5:00pm.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide or assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP). </li><li>Complete the rooming process, including vitals, height, weight, intake questions, documentation and reporting abnormal findings. </li><li>Collect patient specimens, perform point of care testing and prepare specimens for transport to the lab. </li><li>Prepare patients for and assist with exams, tests and procedures, such as EKG, Holter monitor application, pulse oximetry, hearing and vision screening, disinfection and sterilization. </li><li>Administer treatments as directed, including the application of heat or cold, simple sterile dressing changes and applying/removing casts, braces and splints. </li><li>Review printed instructions with patients. </li><li>Assist with wound care. </li><li>Document in the electronic health record. </li><li>Assist with setting and closing the clinic. </li><li>Stock supplies and linens. </li><li>Clean, monitor expiration dates and restock dressing supply carts, check AED units and oxygen tanks, and empty needle boxes using appropriate safety measures. </li><li>Initiate CPR and other emergency measures. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED </li><li>Understanding of human anatomy, basic patient care activities and math </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period </li><li>One year of recent healthcare experience in a hospital or ambulatory, homecare, assisted living, nursing home or long-term care setting OR additional formal training/education </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in the use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) </li><li>Healthcare or science experience </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
