Posting Number 2016171T Department Summary</p> <p>The Center for Student Engagement & Leadership (CSEL) is a department within the Division of Student Affairs at Ohio University located in Athens, OH, in Southeastern Ohio. CSEL has three primary function areas: leadership development (for all OHIO students), student organization oversight and management (450 student organizations) and campus wide programming. CSEL provides services and resources that foster a sense of belonging for all Ohio University students by providing engagement opportunities through leadership development, student organizations, and campus programming.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>Supports the student experience outside the classroom by developing and implementing programs that promote student integration, well-being, and success. Develops and implements student non-academic programs, services, and activities, including residential life, social events, public service, student conduct, leadership development, student organization advising, and other areas.</p> <p>Level Summary</p> <p>Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports.</p> <p>Fiscal Responsibilities</p> <p>May have budgetary responsibility for small-scale projects or initiatives.</p> <p>Problem Solving</p> <p>Solves complex problems, often with limited guidance.</p> <p>Independence of Action</p> <p>Works independently; seeks guidance for unusual situations.</p> <p>Communication and Collaboration</p> <p>Collaborates with team members and external departments. May represent the team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Department VP For Student Affairs Pay Rate</p> <p>The proposed salary range for this position is $44,592 to $59,085. The salary negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience while also considering internal equity.
