<p>Primary Function</p> <p>Performs the duties of a Sleep Lab Technician, scores sleep record of patient and prepares for physician interpretation. Oversees the daily operation of the Sleep Lab.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Performs duties of sleep lab Technician and evaluates PSG and MSLT recordings.</p> </li><li> <p>Interprets raw data: score polysomnogram for sleep stages using standardized criteria, compute parameters to include sleep latency, sleep efficiency and percentage of sleep stages, analyze apneas and arousals (muscle and spontaneous). Determines heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages. Identifies and quantifies abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration.</p> </li><li> <p>Takes necessary steps to ensure accurate function of all sleep recording devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as a resource to other sleep lab staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides input to staff re: overall quality of testing and results. Makes</p> </li></ol> <p>recommendations to staff for improvement in data collection to maintain accuracy.</p> <ol start="6"> <li> <p>Generates computerized PSG report.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides information to the medical staff with regards to test capabilities and requirements in order to increase medical staff knowledge of polysomnographic testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides and coordinates in-service education to sleep lab staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and updates sleep lab policies to maintain compliance with best practice standards</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all other related duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Job Qualifications and Specifications</p> <p>Vocational/technical training and a minimum of one years job-related experience or equivalent is required.
