We are a rapidly growing organization, committed to creating life-changing opportunities for over 23,000 students by 2025.</p> <p>THE OPPORTUNITY</p> <p>YES, Prep needs a dynamic Manager of Facilities Services, with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.</p> <p>The ideal candidate to fulfill this role will possess a mix of both technical knowledge and administrative background. These strengths include the ability to troubleshoot and identify issues within complex systems from automation to mechanical in nature, as well as possessing a firm business acumen for budgets and financial reporting.</p> <p>To put it simply, you will provide improvements to our existing facilities' systems while engaging and supporting our campus Facilities Engineers and campus staff with the upkeep of their buildings. With exceptional performance, the Facilities Manager will be a growth role that can lead to promotion opportunities within the organization.</p> <p>THE ROLE</p> <p>When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinating and managing all aspects of project work on campuses, including scheduling, coordinating between multiple service providers to complete work and follow up as needed; </li><li>Conferring with Senior Management, campus staff, supervisory personnel, contractors, and/or others to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, request for services, or other facilities issues; </li><li>Manager of facilities services will oversee preventative maintenance program for assigned campuses; </li><li>Managing a team of 6-10 Maintenance Technicians; </li><li>Directing and coordinating the work of Facilities Engineers, vendors and contractors following the award of projects, renovations, major as well as minor repairs; </li><li>Tracking and inspecting facilities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contract specifications; monitors progress from the initial award of projects to warranty; </li><li>Managing the planning and installation of furniture, fixtures, equipment; </li><li>Preparing and submitting progress reports, cost tracking reports; plans, organizes, or directs activities related to the maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems; </li><li>Investigating damages, accidents, at sites to ensure that proper procedures are being followed; </li><li>Ensuring compliance with state, federal and college requirements; </li><li>Documenting, benchmarking, and communicating utility usage; </li><li>Creating, releasing, and approving Requisitions; </li><li>Distributing approved Purchase Orders to suppliers; </li><li>Receiving Purchase Orders in accounting software; </li><li>Creating KPIs/dashboards to communicate process improvement to senior management; </li><li>Additional duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>This role will require travel between YES Prep sites (mileage is reimbursed).</p> <p>THE PERSON</p> <p>We seek staff with a multitude of backgrounds, talents, interests, and ideas. Other traits needed and desired for this role are:</p> <p>THE MUST HAVES</p> <ul> <li>Associates degree OR High School diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience. </li><li>6-7 years of direct experience in facility management </li><li>Experience with CMMS systems, work order management software </li><li>Fluent in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and associated programs needed to perform successfully in role; </li><li>Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to work with budgets and numbers </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office programs </li><li>Evidence of producing great work products and projects on quick timelines </li><li>Strong communication, influence, and relationship-building skills </li><li>Ability to assist with budgeting and tracking of expense </li><li>Experience with cost control and coding of expenses </li><li>Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools </li><li>Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback </li><li>Ability to maintain emotional control under stress </li><li>Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment </li><li>Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work on a team </li><li>A dedication to learn, grow, and develop as a professional </li></ul> <p>THE MUST HAVE BELIEFS</p> <ul> <li>Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools </li><li>Desire to disrupt systemic status quos in education </li><li>Willingness to go above and beyond to disrupt said status quos </li><li>Passion to develop resiliency through a relentless pursuit of jaw-dropping results </li><li>Conviction that high expectations + high accountability = high performance and high growth </li></ul> <p>THE NICE TO HAVES</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree is a related field from an accredited four-year institution </li><li>Non-profit and/or public experience </li><li>Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) </li><li>Working knowledge of access control, video surveillance, and fire systems </li><li>Experience managing custodial services </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of contract documents and specifications </li><li>Knowledge of architectural and engineering design, and planning principles and procedures </li><li>Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating, and fiscal management principles related to complex integrated facilities projects </li><li>Detail-oriented and self-directed </li></ul> <p>THE PERKS</p> <ul> <li>Compensation - This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience. </li><li>Health and Supplemental Insurance - A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits. </li><li>Retirement Plans - Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b Retirement Plan. </li><li>Paid Time Off - Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days[AS1] of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar. </li><li>Paid Leave Programming - In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure. </li><li>Professional Development - YES Prep values longevity and performance over time.
