<p>The Director of Student Success and Career Services serves as a leader within the Falk College of Sport, responsible for advancing an integrated strategy for academic advising, student support, and career development. The Director guides efforts that elevate student achievement, persistence, and post-graduate readiness across innovative and interdisciplinary disciplines, including sport management, sport analytics, esports, exercise science, and nutrition/nutrition science. This role acts as a strategic resource to faculty, department chairs, and senior administrators, contributing expertise in data-informed decision-making, inclusive student engagement, and high-impact practices. The Director plays a critical role in shaping the college's long-term vision for student success by fostering a culture of collaboration, belonging, and career readiness in sport and health-related education.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree: 7+ years of progressive experience in academic advising, student support, or career development. Experience at an R1 institution preferred. </li><li>Experience developing programs or partnerships in sport management, esports, or health sciences; familiarity with advising and career systems (e.g., Orange Success, EAB, Handshake); knowledge of labor trends and student engagement strategies. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated expertise in holistic, equity-focused academic advising strategies. </li><li>Proven ability to lead teams, implement strategic initiatives, and assess outcomes using data. </li><li>Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee academic advising and student success initiatives that promote retention, achievement, and leadership development. </li><li>Provide strategic oversight and management of the Peer Advisor Program and Student Leadership Council, aligning them with broader mentorship and engagement strategies. </li><li>Foster proactive, relationship-based advising grounded in inclusion, mentorship, and student empowerment. </li><li>Lead strategic career development initiatives including employer partnerships, internship development, experiential learning opportunities and alumni engagement. </li><li>Expand student access to professional experiences and employment pipelines in sport, health, and wellness industries. </li><li>Develop and implement a unified vision for undergraduate student success and career development aligned with college priorities. </li><li>Promote innovation in advising, student support models, and career preparation across sport and health-related disciplines. </li><li>Lead and manage professional staff across advising, career services, and student support units. </li><li>Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on student outcomes and staff development. </li><li>Create and deliver professional development training for staff and faculty advisors. </li><li>Use institutional data and national benchmarks to evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. </li><li>Monitor retention, persistence and probation trends and provide reports and insights to college leadership and key stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
