Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.</p> <p>The Role</p> <p>As the Director of Production and Supply Chain, you will play a mission-critical role in shaping the scalability and reliability of Red 6's hardware solutions. You will be responsible for managing the Bill of Materials (BOM), optimizing supplier relationships, and leading end-to-end production operations for military-grade electronics and headset systems.</p> <p>This role spans low- to high-volume production-from prototypes to 1,000+ unit shipsets-and demands a hands-on, startup-savvy leader who thrives in a high-growth, lean environment. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and be evaluated based on on-time delivery and return metrics.</p> <p>Key responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>End-to-end production management, from planning through execution</p> </li><li> <p>Ownership of supplier relationships and sourcing of critical components (e.g., PCBs, machined parts)</p> </li><li> <p>Overseeing field support, repairs, and returns</p> </li><li> <p>Leading scale-up planning, including budget, layout, and cost forecasting</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting design-for-manufacturing (DFM) efforts in collaboration with development teams</p> </li><li> <p>Navigating both tactical (e.g., assembling furniture) and strategic (e.g., facility planning) challenges typical of startup life</p> </li></ul> <p>Your leadership will be essential in ensuring that producibility and reliability are considered from early design through delivery, recognizing that manufacturability only matters if the product meets customer expectations.</p> <p>Experience, Skills, and Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of experience in engineering and production environments (military product experience is a strong plus)</p> </li><li> <p>3+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional development and production teams</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to scale production from concept to 1,000+ units</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field</p> </li><li> <p>Experience managing key suppliers for custom components</p> </li><li> <p>Qualified candidates must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
