<p>Summary:</p> <p>Under supervision of the Support Services Captain, the Police Quartermaster is responsible for the general oversight of the police department's equipment and supply function, to include, issuing equipment and other supplies to department personnel, identifying and evaluating "police specific" equipment, making equipment and supply purchases, and maintaining inventory records. Related experience is preferred but not required. Law enforcement experience preferred. This is an entry level position. Valid Utah driver's license required. Knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures; equipment request forms; basic computer skills such as Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel. Great responsibility for the care and condition of various types of equipment. Responsible for purchasing, receiving, and distributing equipment. Contact with other departments, furnishing and obtaining information; judgement and tact required to avoid friction; outside contact with public presenting data that may influence important decisions; frequent contacts involving the carrying out of programs and schedules requiring and influencing of others to obtain desired result; involvement with persons of various supervisory levels requiring well developed sense of strategy and timing.
