<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Perform basic respiratory care procedures in general care areas under supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Set up and maintain low flow oxygen devices of 6 LPM or less to include nasal cannula or a simple mask. </li><li>Set up and maintain aerosol devices with Fi02 of equal to or less than 50%. </li><li>Deliver medications through a spontaneous small volume nebulizer. </li><li>Deliver medications via Metered Dose Inhaler or Dry Powder Inhaler. </li><li>Responsible for measurement of peak flow, simple spirometry, and pulse oximetry. </li><li>Responsible for use of the following airway clearance devices or techniques: therapy vest, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, suctioning via artificial airway, and positive expiratory pressure therapies. </li><li>Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation after Basic Life Support Certification. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)</p> <p>The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.
