<p>MacLean-Fogg is seeking a reliable and motivated Forming Operator to join our high-performance manufacturing team. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for operating forming equipment used to shape and produce precision components that meet exacting customer standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys solving problems on the fly, and wants to be part of a company that powers the backbone of the automotive and industrial sectors.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <ul> <li>Position Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt) </li><li>Pay Range: $22.50 per hour (increases to $25.00 after training and on 2nd shift) </li><li>Work Location: Richmond, Illinois (On-Site) </li><li>Shift: 2nd (2:15 PM - 12:45 AM) NOTE: This position will train for 4-6 months during 1st shift (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM) </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Operate forming machines (cold heading, hot forming, or other) according to defined procedures. </li><li>Set up and adjust machines to ensure proper tooling, alignment, and production rates. </li><li>Inspect parts during and after production using measuring instruments and visual checks. </li><li>Monitor and maintain machine performance to prevent downtime and ensure quality. </li><li>Record accurate production and inspection data in logs or electronic systems. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized. </li><li>Work with Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve process or equipment issues. </li><li>Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment. </li></ul> <p>Skills/Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. </li><li>Ability to interpret part drawings and production specifications. </li><li>Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools. </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency under pressure. </li><li>Basic troubleshooting and machine adjustment capabilities. </li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Required)</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED. </li><li>Previous experience in a manufacturing or production role. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment (lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods). </li><li>Availability to work required shift and overtime when necessary. </li><li>Basic math and reading comprehension skills. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Preferred)</p> <ul> <li>Experience with forming equipment such as cold headers or hot formers. </li><li>Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices. </li><li>Prior experience in metal forming or automotive manufacturing. </li></ul>
