<p>The Compensation Operations team is an HR workstream that supports Best Buy's compensation strategy, technology, compliance and business goals to reward employees.</p> <p>As an HR Operations Associate Manager on the Compensation Operations team, you will be responsible for supporting compensation and variable pay operations for Best Buy, researching issues and escalations, supporting Compensation Technology processing and unlocking additional insights and data to help drive payment accuracy.</p> <p>This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team.</p> <p>What you'll do</p> <ul> <li>Manage end-to-end variable pay escalation processing, ensure timely and accurate resolution of complex inquiries, coordinate discussion with cross-functional partners, present exception requests to stakeholders or governance teams for decisions, and provide outcomes to appropriate processing team. </li><li>Responsible for documentation of variable pay escalation data, accountable for creating data analyses to identify systemic issues and collaborating with team to create and document process improvement recommendations. </li><li>Analyze variable pay escalation data to identify trends, variances, and areas for optimization providing actionable insights to compensation leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. </li><li>Responsible for monthly LTI processing and management of the mail merge communication tool. </li><li>Responsible for Compensation Technology processes; weekly, monthly, quarterly audits (LTI Red circle, step progression start date, job code), Anniversary Merit and Step Management. </li><li>Maintain and update processing documents and best practices to support continuous improvement for Compensation Operations and variable pay. </li><li>Act as a trusted advisor to the Compensation team using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Basic qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3 years of experience in Compensation, HR operations, Payroll, or related field. </li><li>3 years of experience and proficiency with Excel (pivots, macros, lookups), data transformation, and reporting. </li><li>3 years of experience with HRIS systems (Workday, Oracle, etc). </li><li>Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills resolving, supporting business decision making, or applying data analysis techniques. </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with variable pay structures such as short-term incentives (STI), sales commissions, or bonus plans. </li><li>Demonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross functional business teams/decisions. </li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights. </li><li>Strong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field. </li><li>1 or more years' experience influencing and presenting to all levels of the organization. </li></ul> <p>What's in it for you</p> <p>We're committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
