<p>How to Apply</p> <p>A cover letter and resume are required. The cover letter must be PAGE 1 of your resume and should outline the following:</p> <ul> <li>The reasons for your interest in the position. </li><li>Your particular skills and experience that directly relate to this position. If applicable, discussion of your skills and experience should indicate: </li></ul> <p>a. experience with College Prep teaching and learning;</p> <p>b. experience with facilitating synchronous online learning learning or engagement;</p> <p>c. experience facilitating social and/or communications media projects with middle or high school students or skills, knowledge, or experience pertinent to supporting such facilitation; and/or</p> <p>d. experience working with diverse populations.</p> <ul> <li>Whether you are also available to staff and support in-person programming (see below). </li></ul> <p>Please furnish professional references and be highly recommended by at least one professional associate (administrator, teacher, counselor, supervisor).</p> <p>Mission Statement</p> <p>The Vice Provost for Access and Opportunity (VPAO) oversees programs that promote college readiness, ease the transition to university life, and help students navigate their academic paths. These efforts include outreach to K-12 learners, support throughout the college experience, and initiatives that encourage meaningful engagement and personal growth. The portfolio also includes programs focused on spiritual, religious, and interfaith engagement, alongside dedicated support for the disability community. In support of this overarching effort, three key units within our office - the Center for Educational Outreach (CEO), Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives (OAMI), and Wolverine Pathways (WP) - all work closely with the VPAO to advance the strategic vision of access and opportunity at the University of Michigan.</p> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>Wolverine Pathways seeks to confront the barriers that limit the college and career aspirations of highly motivated students from under-resourced communities. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue a wide range of professional and academic pathways. Toward this end, we provide free college preparatory enrichment and guidance for 7th through 12th grade students in Detroit, Southfield, Ypsilanti and 10th through 12th in Grand Rapids.
