<p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Optometry Operations Manager supports the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and ensures smooth operations for the Optometry Program. This role involves managing administrative tasks, coordinating faculty and student needs, and maintaining efficient workflows. Strong organizational skills, self-management, and proficiency with modern office technology are essential.</p> <p>This is a remote, full-time position, and includes eligibility for all RMU benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k), and more. In addition, this position receives 17 paid holidays annually, 3 paid floating holidays annually, and accrual of paid vacation and paid sick time.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide administrative support: document preparation, scheduling, record maintenance, and coordination with university personnel. </li><li>Serve as liaison between Academic Affairs and faculty, students, departments, and external partners. </li><li>Manage academic calendars, space assignments, and inventory for courses and labs. </li><li>Oversee expense reports, budget tracking, and purchasing recommendations. </li><li>Administer Peer Tutoring Program, including budget and policy compliance. </li><li>Track faculty and student time-off requests for policy and accreditation purposes. </li><li>Assist with policy development, manual updates, and accreditation documentation. </li><li>Coordinate faculty recruitment, retention, and achievement promotion. </li><li>Support assessment, admissions, and student recruitment activities. </li><li>Organize events (e.g., Lunch & Learn), travel arrangements, and meeting logistics. </li><li>Maintain compliance records (background checks, immunizations, HIPAA, licensure). </li><li>Perform general office duties and other tasks as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. </li><li>Experience: 4+ years in academic or healthcare settings preferred. </li><li>Skills: </li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, pivot tables) </li><li>Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently </li><li>Problem-solving and process improvement mindset </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Communication | Collaboration | Critical Thinking </li><li>Initiative | Integrity | Student-Centered Approach </li><li>Financial Accountability | Innovation | Results-Driven </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION</p> <p>Finger dexterity:</p> <p>Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together</p> <p>Talking:</p> <p>Especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly</p> <p>Average Hearing:</p> <p>Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information</p> <p>Average Visual Abilities:</p> <p>Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery</p> <p>Physical Strength:</p> <p>Sedentary work. Sitting most of the time.
