Staff guide students through a fast-paced rehearsal process that culminates in a final performance for families and the community.</p> <p>This role requires active leadership, clear communication, and the ability to manage and inspire groups of students throughout the day. Depending on experience, staff may assist or lead classes, but all team members are expected to contribute to a structured, collaborative, and performance-driven environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and supervise students </li></ul> <p>Supervise and guide a consistent group of students throughout the day, including rehearsals, transitions, and performances.</p> <p>Maintain a structured, respectful, and focused environment.</p> <p>Ensure students are actively engaged and appropriately supported at all times.</p> <ul> <li>Teach and facilitate activities </li></ul> <p>Lead or assist in teaching theatre classes, rehearsals, and electives.</p> <p>Plan and implement activities that support performance goals and student development.</p> <p>Adapt instruction to meet the needs and abilities of the group.</p> <ul> <li>Support rehearsals and performances </li></ul> <p>Contribute to the creation of a final performance through rehearsal support, staging, and student preparation.</p> <p>Assist with transitions, backstage organization, and performance logistics as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain safety and program standards </li></ul> <p>Follow all safety and supervision policies.</p> <p>Monitor student well-being and respond appropriately to health or behavioral concerns.</p> <p>Report concerns and communicate with the Youth Theatre Director as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate and communicate </li></ul> <p>Work as part of a teaching team to support the overall program.</p> <p>Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families.</p> <p>Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute to a positive team environment.</p> <p>Staff are also required to attend:</p> <ul> <li>One evening performance during the final days of each session (typically between 4:00-8:00 PM) </li><li>Weekly faculty meetings held on Mondays after program hours </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Preferences</p> <p>Experience working with children or teens in an educational, camp, or rehearsal setting.</p> <p>Ability to lead or assist in managing a classroom or rehearsal space.</p> <p>Comfort teaching or facilitating theatre-based activities.</p> <p>Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, and families.</p> <p>Be physically able to move throughout campus spaces and accompany students to activities.</p> <p>Ability to recognize and respond to safety concerns, including student health and behavior.</p> <p>Ability to observe student behavior and respond appropriately to group dynamics and individual needs.</p> <p>Previous experience in theatre education, camps, or youth programs.</p> <p>Interest in ensemble-based theatre and collaborative creation.</p> <p>Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.</p> <p>Strong organizational and classroom management skills.</p> <p>Willingness to take initiative and problem-solve in real time.</p> <p>Enthusiasm, patience, flexibility, and a sense of responsibility.</p> <p>Must be at least 18 years of age.</p> <p>Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
