<p>Position Title: Gifted & Talented (GT) and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM): Elementary School Teacher</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Arkansas teaching license </li><li>GT endorsement or in process of getting GT Endorsement </li></ul> <p>Reports to: Principal/Assistant Principal & Director of Gifted Programs</p> <p>Terms of Employment: 190 days with benefits according to Siloam Springs School</p> <p>Board policies</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver appropriate programming for identified gifted students </li><li>Maintain all documentation needed for state monitoring of the elementary school GT program </li><li>Conduct testing for the gifted & talented program </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers </li><li>Plan units of study that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students </li><li>Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly </li><li>Create positive educational climate for students that is conducive to learning </li><li>Establish classroom behavior expectations and procedures that create a climate where all members are valued </li><li>Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress </li><li>Effectively implement district initiatives </li><li>Attend state GT conference </li><li>Plan and coordinate parent and community engagement events related to STEAM/GT </li><li>Plan and prepare engaging, integrated lessons for K-2 Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) aligned to Arkansas standards which enhance and support regular Science classroom instruction </li></ul> <p>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations </li><li>Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or directors </li><li>Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities </li><li>Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation </li><li>Serve on committees as assigned </li><li>Remain current on instructional practices in education </li></ul>
