<p>Role Summary:</p> <p>The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting testing procedures during the manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards. This role provides administrative and technical support to the department including investigation and disposition of defective parts, creation and maintenance of standard defect lists, and part measurement and testing.</p> <p>Accountable for:</p> <ul> <li>Read QC specifications to ascertain acceptable part specifications </li><li>Check parts to make sure they meet customers' specifications </li><li>Perform specified tests on parts including visual inspection and physical testing using various measuring instruments </li><li>Evaluate data and issues reports for deviations from existing standards </li><li>Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated, validated and maintained properly and ensure safety during operation of equipment </li><li>Monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests performed are done according to item specifications, protocols, and standard methods </li><li>Use standard measuring and testing instruments, functional gauges, and other tools as required </li><li>Distribute check sheets, gauges, plugs, and fixtures for technician inspection </li><li>Communicate customer requirements, sampling procedures, and tests to techs and inspector packers </li><li>Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety </li><li>Use computer programs to measure and check parts </li><li>Use CMM, vision systems, etc. to measure and check parts </li><li>Understand and follow ISO requirements </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School education or equivalent </li><li>Solid math skills </li><li>1-2 years prior experience in a quality inspection role </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certification from ASQ preferred </li><li>Superior eye for detail and slight deviations from in-house quality standards </li><li>Experience in a manufacturing environment </li><li>Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing/inspection. </li><li>Desire for continual learning and personal development </li><li>Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills are essential. </li><li>Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior </li><li>Keeps commitments; exhibits candor and courage - is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view, to engage in spirited and constructive debate, to hold others accountable. </li></ul>
