<p>Are you a registered nurse who would be interested in providing instruction to future nurses in both the classroom and clinical settings? Do you have innovative ideas about how to engage students and enhance their learning experiences? If so then Kalamazoo Valley Community College may have the perfect part time opportunity for you.</p> <p>The college is seeking a part-time instructor to teach the following progression of LPN classes.</p> <p>LPN 131 Adult LPN I (Lecture) - Winter Semester 2026 (January through April)</p> <p>This course is an introduction to the role of the professional LPN nurse as provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of health-care team, and member of the profession. Content includes fundamental concepts of nursing practice, history of professional nursing, and a systematic framework for decision-making and critical thinking. The mechanisms of disease and the needs and problems that can arise are discussed and how the nursing process helps manage the patient through these issues. Emphasis is on knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Topics of vulnerable populations and health equity will also be discussed.</p> <p>LPN 151 Adult LPN II (Lecture) - Summer Semester 2026 (May through August)</p> <p>This course continues to build upon the role of the professional LPN nurse as provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, member of health-care team, and member of the profession. Content includes fundamental concepts of nursing practice, a systematic framework for decision-making and critical thinking. The mechanisms of disease and the needs and problems that can arise are discussed and how the nursing process helps manage the patient through these issues. Emphasis is on knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Topics of vulnerable populations and health equity will also be discussed.</p> <p>Each course also has a lab/clinical component that would be an additional teaching opportunity (LPN 133 and LPN 153) for the qualified candidate.</p> <p>The ideal candidate could cover both lecture assignments and possibly the lab/clinical hours as well.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>A bachelor's degree in nursing science and an unencumbered State of Michigan RN license.</p> <p>Two years nursing practice experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications and Experience:</p> <p>Master's degree in nursing with medical/surgical experience.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Extended periods of standing, walking and occasional lifting of patients.</p> <p>Work Hours: To be determined Posting Date Closing Date: Special Instructions to Applicants:</p> <ul> <li>Please apply online at: jobs.kvcc.edu </li><li>Kalamazoo Valley reserves the right to close this job posting once a sufficient applicant pool is established. </li><li>Please attach copy of current RN license. </li><li>Official transcripts will be required to be submitted upon hire. </li></ul> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>As an employer, Kalamazoo Valley encourages, welcomes, and fosters differences because we believe that diversity makes us great.
