This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a positive impact on the community and gain valuable experience in coaching and mentorship.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate training sessions for SBCSC Athletics that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship under direction of the Athletics Department. </li><li>Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment that encourages personal and athletic growth. </li><li>Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and organization staff to provide updates on progress, schedules, and any concerns. </li><li>Monitor and assess participant performance, providing constructive feedback and motivation to help individuals achieve their personal and team goals. </li><li>Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices, games, and related activities. </li><li>Assist with the coordination of team events, competitions, and community outreach initiatives. </li><li>Promote the organization's values and contribute to a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in the specific sport or activity as a player or coach is preferred but not required. </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to motivate and inspire youth and/or adult participants. </li><li>Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment. </li><li>Reliable and punctual, with a genuine interest in volunteerism and community service. </li><li>Willingness to undergo training and adhere to the organization's coaching philosophy and safety protocols. </li><li>Must pass a background check in accordance with SBCSC Board Policy. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Gain valuable coaching and leadership experience. </li><li>Make a meaningful impact on the community and the lives of individuals. </li><li>Be part of a supportive and passionate team. </li><li>Opportunities for professional development and training. </li></ul>
