<ul> <li>Incumbent will be responsible for all tasks and activities related to the delivery of course content including test administration, record keeping, and management of an effective learning environment. </li><li>The approved training curriculum must be followed, per SLCC policy, assuring successful completion of identified student learning outcomes. </li><li>Provide online, lecture, or hybrid instruction which promotes mastery of subject knowledge and skills as well as student learning success. </li><li>Give timely feedback to students on assignments, quizzes, exams, projects; clearly communicate expectation related to coursework; maintain open line of communication with program manager; maintain student records as required by the College and program manager; conduct pre-post course survey; adapt curriculum to meet current industry trends and/or standards. </li><li>Incorporate class discussions, student presentations, assignments, exams, and hands-on activities to engage and assess student learning outcomes. </li><li>Support program assessment initiatives. </li><li>Follow SLCC policies and procedures. </li><li>Revise/update curriculum as needed. </li></ul> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization </li><li>Maintains professional etiquette in communications with class participants, staff, faculty, and administrators </li><li>Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments </li><li>Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards </li><li>Maintains attendance records and grades </li><li>Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of class participant performance </li><li>Informs class participants of progress-to-date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines </li><li>Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment </li><li>Prepares and submits incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy </li><li>Maintains professional and collegial behavior </li><li>Handles/responds to class participant concerns/complaints, and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days) </li><li>Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure </li><li>Completes all required employee trainings </li><li>Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines </li><li>Provides ADA accommodations as requested </li><li>Other job related duties as required </li></ul> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's in Education. </li><li>Five years or more experience working in given field of expertise. </li><li>Utah State endorsements/licensure in one or more of these areas: English, Literacy, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, ELL, Educational Technology.; PE, health, school counselor, </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience working with adult learners. </li><li>Experience teaching online courses. </li><li>Master's in Instruction or Curriculum Design. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Strong interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of unique concerns of returning adult students. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. </li><li>Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties Special Instructions</p> <p>This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. US Citizenship is preferred, but non-citizens may be considered if they possess valid employment authorization. </li><li>All employees are required to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment.
