This role includes preparing patients, operating radiographic equipment, ensuring radiation safety protocols, and maintaining accurate patient records. The Radiologic Technologist collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic images in an acute care hospital setting. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort </li><li>Verify patient identification and clinical history prior to imaging procedures </li><li>Operate radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images as per established protocols </li><li>Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging procedures, patient history, and diagnostic outcomes </li><li>Implement radiation safety measures to minimize patient and staff exposure </li><li>Assist in the administration of contrast media as directed by a radiologist </li><li>Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to appropriate personnel </li><li>Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance </li><li>Collaborate with radiologists to assess imaging quality and adjust techniques as needed </li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control guidelines </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety protocols </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to work effectively in high-stress, emergency situations </li><li>Proficiency in using radiographic imaging equipment and electronic medical record systems </li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentation </li><li>Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and maintaining ARRT certification </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Associate of Radiologic Technology required </li><li>Bachelor of Radiologic Technology preferred </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required </li><li>State Radiologic Technologist License required </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>1 years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred </li></ul>
