<p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Food Service Director</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT STATUS:</p> <p>Part-time Monday - Friday</p> <p>Hours vary depending on the school building</p> <p>FLSA STATUS:</p> <p>Non-exempt</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Assist with food preparation, serving and clean up. Handle financial transactions of the student and staff.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the preparation and serving of foods, according to instructions provided by the Head Cook or the Food Service Director. </li><li>Follow state and local health and safety regulations for the proper handling and storage of food, and the cleaning of cafeteria equipment. </li><li>Receive money from customers and keep accurate records of the transactions. </li><li>Prepare a daily deposit for the food service director to pick up. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Observe all other safety and health regulations of the school district. </li><li>Maintain an appropriate personal appearance. </li><li>Serve as a role model in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values. </li><li>Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head Cook or the Food Service Director. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or G.E.D., preferred </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to operate all kitchen equipment. </li><li>Ability to interpret and modify recipes. </li><li>Willingness to participate in continuing education in such topics as dietary information, State and Federal regulations and technology. </li><li>Strong basic math skills. </li><li>Ability to operate cash registers, calculators and adding machines. </li><li>Basic computer skills, or willingness to learn those skills if needed to perform the duties of the position. </li><li>Ability to be bonded. </li></ul> <p>EQUIPMENT OPERATED:</p> <ul> <li>Kitchen equipment; for example, dishwashers, ovens, slicers, steam kettles. </li><li>Office machines, such as calculators, computers, word processors, adding machines. </li><li>Cash register. </li><li>Calculator. </li><li>Adding machine. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent use of noisy and hazardous kitchen equipment. </li><li>Requirement to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. </li><li>Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning and disinfecting. </li><li>Exposure to extreme heat and cold. </li><li>Repetitive hand motions are used in such activities as stirring, assembling, and scooping. </li><li>Work hours may be extended occasionally, in order to complete an essential job or to comply with rules regarding bank deposits. </li><li>Potential exposure to unruly children. </li><li>Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue. </li></ul> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Length of Employment: As Needed Basis </li><li>Salary: Based on current substitute pay schedule. </li><li>Fringe Benefits: None </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Please submit a letter of interest and resume to the online application.
