This is a perfect opportunity for someone seeking flexible, rewarding work-you choose the shifts that fit your schedule</p> <p>Work 36 hours across 6 weeks, with one holiday shift per year. This role includes access to a dedicated career ladder with opportunities for rate adjustments and professional growth.</p> <p>About the Unit:</p> <p>The Rehab Unit is a 24 bed post-acute facility that offers Inpatient Rehabilitation level of care, inclusive of 24 hr Rehab nursing, intensive PT/OT/SLP services all coordinated with the specialty of Physical Medicine, and Rehab (PMR) physician oversight.</p> <p>Our unit population generally consists of Stroke, neurological disorders, complex orthopedic, brain injury and spinal cord injury (without bowel/bladder involvement) patients. Our patients are expected to need/participate in intensive therapy services of two or more (PT/OT/SLP) whereby the patient is expected to participate in a minimum of 180 minutes (3 hrs) or more of therapy daily.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a passion for developing others, enthusiastically and expertly precepts students, graduate nurses and new hires. Analyzes clinical and behavioral situations, identifying learning opportunities to improve patient care practices. </li><li>Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Formulates daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner. </li></ul> <p>Minimum 2 years experience.</p> <p>BSN preferred.</p> <p>Must obtain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher on a Professional Staff Nurse Performance Evaluation to be promoted to this level. Must maintain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher on annual performance evaluation to maintain status.</p> <p>.Annual completion of a professional contribution selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director OR UPMC approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer and must be maintained OR Certification not required if Master's in nursing or DNP is held. If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted in lieu of Certification.</p> <p>Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:</p> <p>Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located. UPMC approved nursing certification preferred. Annual completion of a professional contributions selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director OR UPMC approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer and must be maintained. OR Certification not required if Master's in nursing or DNP is held. If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted in lieu of Certification. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) </li><li>Registered Nurse (RN) </li><li>Act 34 </li><li>Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state. </li></ul> <p>UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran</p>
