<p>YOUR IMPACT</p> <p>The Personal Trainer provides professional and educated one-on-one or small-group training service to members and develops fitness routines that will satisfy member goals. Under the guidance and supervision of Healthy Living Director, the Personal Trainer will be responsible for guiding members through effective exercise programs. Responsible for building a strong network of relationships with members, growing and maintaining client base for personal training and designing, implementing and leading specialty programs as needed.</p> <p>EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Trains clients. Provides energizing, fun, safe and educational wellness counseling as directed, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals. </li><li>Keeps accurate records of clients. </li><li>Supports wellness coaching services and equipment orientations. </li><li>Assists with sanitizing equipment management including gathering, washing and restacking blue towels, cleaning equipment and performing routine studio checks for cleanliness and restocking needs. </li><li>Cleans equipment and performs light maintenance throughout training centers and personal training rooms. Regularly check all equipment to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness. Follow daily cleaning schedule to ensure centers meet YMCA standards. </li><li>Communicate with Healthy Living team regarding low inventory, missed scheduled cleaning and other necessary points to keep the team informed and running smoothly. </li><li>Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. </li><li>Effectively provide instruction on usage of fitness equipment and emphasis safety and proper technique. </li><li>Understands the components and principles of fitness and be able to discuss them with members. </li><li>Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. </li><li>Attends staff meetings and trainings to stay current with latest fitness trends and educational information. </li><li>Follows YMCA policies and procedures. Responds to emergency situations. </li><li>Ask members to complete surveys when requested. </li><li>Create a non-competitive and inclusive atmosphere </li><li>Pro-actively market yourself to members to secure new personal training sessions. </li><li>Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming. </li><li>Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly. </li><li>Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley. </li></ul> <p>SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION: 3 Positions</p> <p>Position 1: Northeast Family YMCA and Puri Family YMCA</p> <p>Part-Time, Non-Exempt</p> <p>Schedule Varies</p> <p>$25.00 per hour when personal training clients or teaching fee-based classes</p> <p>$20.00 per hour for all other positions in the Healthy Living Department</p> <p>Positions 2 & 3: SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA</p> <p>Part-Time, Non-Exempt</p> <p>Schedule Varies</p> <p>$25.00 per hour when personal training clients or teaching fee-based classes</p> <p>$20.00 per hour for all other positions in the Healthy Living Department</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) </li><li>Nationally recognized personal training certification (ACE, NETA, ACSM, NASM, ISSA, NSCA, Foundations of Strength & Conditioning at the Y (Offered by ACE) V2.0) </li><li>Excellent knowledge in the area of health and wellness </li><li>YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within six months of hire </li><li>One year of training clients preferred </li><li>CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days </li><li>Current Praesidium Academy trainings </li></ul> <p>The Y is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
