<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Events & Promotions Specialist II oversees endeavors within Marketing regarding promotional happenings, events, and offers. This includes supervising the other Events & Promotion Specialists, as well as leading the coordination and execution of various public and private events, both on and off Hoosier Park Property.</p> <p>DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: Events & Promotion Specialist(s)</p> <p>KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising the Events & Promotion Specialists at HHPRC: assigning schedules, monitoring their work, delegating individual responsibilities regarding promotions. </li><li>Develop, plan and execute all special events and promotions. </li><li>Contributes to program development to help the department achieve its goals. </li><li>Assists Director of Marketing with the submission of, approval and verification of, all contracts, proposals, purchase requisitions, IGC submissions and any other company document needed to fulfill the planning and execution of an event. </li><li>Creates and controls accurate player lists conducive to the level of events. </li><li>Maintains security and confidentiality of files, records, and lists, both for departmental personnel and marketing efforts. </li><li>Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with other departments. </li><li>Works with other departments and vendors to arrange for food & beverage, decorations, gifts, entertainment, and supplies for all events. </li><li>Accurately tracks all expenses for events and prepares expenses for analysis and financial review. </li><li>Accurately tracks and communicates event reservation procedures and attendance of events to other departments. </li><li>Coordinates approved events with emphasis on quality, as well as remaining within budgetary guidelines. </li><li>Communicates event schedule and details to the property, including internal collateral distribution and conducting weekly meetings. </li><li>Maintains records, charts, and graphs of events on a monthly basis. </li><li>Will be measured on thoroughness of detail, event execution, and event ROS. </li><li>Responsible for project management and meeting timelines. Attention to detail and follow through. </li><li>Processes cash transactions in accordance with the policies set forth in Marketing Operations, to include but not limited to obtaining a float from Employee Services, processing buy-ins, re-buys, and reel rewards for all electronic gaming devices and tournaments. </li><li>Assists with the Total Rewards Center as needed, performing functions as a Total Rewards Representative. </li><li>Performs and completes all other duties as assigned. </li><li>Adheres to all department/company policies and procedures. </li><li>Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Hoosier Park property and encourages others to do the same. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and/or Entertainment based field preferred or equivalent in professional experience required. Event planning, VIP Services and general hosting experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.</p> <p>RISK MANAGEMENT:</p> <p>Will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such a way as to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/court challenges. Ensures that all company, department or division activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulation s and laws governing business operations. This includes but is not limited to adherence to Human Resource, safety and workers' compensation policies and procedures.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Directly supervises Events & Promotions Specialist(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in marketing, 3+ years of supervisory experience or 1-3 year's managerial experience in marketing; or equivalent combination of</p> <p>education and experience.</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</p> <p>Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY:</p> <p>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to multi-task with a keen eye for detail.</p> <p>REQUIRED PERSONAL COMPETENCIES:</p> <p>Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</p> <p>Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming Commission license.
