<p>Vanguard Conference and Event Planning (CEP) has an exciting opportunity for an Event Manager who can plan and execute world class event experiences varying in goals, size, and audience.</p> <p>As Event Manager, you will lead and mentor a dynamic team of event planners, a Communications Manager, and a contractor, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Your role involves providing guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.</p> <p>You will be instrumental in developing and implementing operational excellence through efficient processes and workflow. By continuously monitoring and evaluating event operations, you will identify areas for improvement and optimize resource utilization, ensuring that the team and events are setup for success.</p> <p>Your expertise in event planning will be crucial as you oversee the meticulous planning and execution of various enterprise wide events, coordinating with vendors and stakeholders to secure necessary resources. Always staying updated on the latest trends and technologies, you will enhance event experiences. Collaborating closely with the Communications Manager, you will ensure consistent and effective messaging across all channels, analyzing metrics to measure the success of event campaigns.</p> <p>Maintaining a deep understanding of the enterprise's goals and strategic initiatives, you will align event planning with organizational objectives and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your interpersonal skills will be essential in cultivating trust and collaboration with internal teams, acting as a liaison to ensure smooth communication and coordination. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Consults with senior leaders in one or more business areas to deliver top-quality and cost-effective meetings and events in line with business objectives and Vanguard's brand strategy.</p> </li><li> <p>Executes large-scale conferences and events. Recommends and implements creative and innovative practices to continuously improve upon existing meeting and event planning processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and maintains broad knowledge and awareness of conference and event industry forces, competition, and trends to act as a trusted advisor throughout the conference and event strategy.</p> </li><li> <p>Creates detailed plans consistent with marketing and business objectives, develops cost/benefit analyses, and leads continuous-improvement efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Fosters effective communication and partnership with external partners. Liaises between internal and external partners as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in assessing team capacity and prioritizing requests. Engages in strategic competitive analysis. Manages risk and ensures compliance in partnership with senior leaders and other Vanguard crew.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Five years related work experience, with at least Two years of marketing or event-planning experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Operational excellence and the ability to implement efficient processes and workflows to enable seamless events.</p> </li><li> <p>People management experience including leading dynamic teams and providing guidance and support.</p> </li><li> <p>A strong ability to build rapport with executive stakeholders and internal teams to foster trust and collaboration.</p> </li></ul> <p>This role is part of our hybrid work model with Tuesdays - Thursdays required in our offices to foster collaboration and relationships.
