<p>The Direct Digital Control (DDC) System consists of over 415,000 points. The Energy Management Operations is a critical operation within CFAS that is responsible for daily management activities to include the coordination of building systems and process management, The Automation Systems Specialist is responsible to identify opportunities to optimize the Energy Management System through scheduling and comparing existing control strategies to current code requirements and engineering best practices. They are also part of a team responsible regarding building temperature and occupant comfort. The Automation systems Specialist is also responsible for building and occupant scheduling concerns. Assist with service software requests.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree and/or HS diploma/GED with related HVAC Certifications OR a minimum of (5) years' experience in HVAC mechanical equipment service industry. </li><li>Experience working with the Energy Management Systems. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with concepts and theories relating to HVAC and lighting control </li><li>Knowledge of organizational structures, workflow, and operating procedures of the University. </li><li>Strong dedication to customer service </li><li>Strong communication, problem solving, analytical, independent thinking, judgment and decision-making skills </li><li>Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Word, Access. </li><li>Ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and implement energy management and operating policies. </li><li>Ability to identify process improvements that will result in operating efficiencies and reporting accuracy. </li><li>Demonstrate attention to detail, and strong analytical skills. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate a solid analytical aptitude with climate control and building automation systems. </li><li>Be able to demonstrate computer proficiencies with e-mail, Microsoft Office Suite, & BAS systems. </li><li>The ability to provide support for staff development. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage the processes within building system equipment scheduling. </li><li>Implement building occupancy scheduled during extreme cold and hot weather. </li><li>Collaborate with building occupants, consultants, and engineers to understand how building automation scheduling can improve efficiencies while maintaining occupant comfort. </li><li>Run and provide reports from energy management systems for analysis. </li><li>Maintain and update operational procedures. </li><li>Work as a liaison between ESSM and HVAC on campus action items. </li><li>Work with Sustainability on Retro-Commissioning and energy projects. </li><li>Assist with designing, producing, and implementing software systems under various application software languages, platforms, and protocols to support these systems. </li><li>Provide troubleshooting support for the Campus DDC/HVAC, lighting, and card access system. </li><li>Configure hardware and controller components. </li><li>Test systems for optimal performance. </li><li>Troubleshoot the Energy Management network which include: 1.) RS485 Infinet networks inside the individual buildings. 2.) Different networks between buildings on campus 3.) Fiber Optic devices responsible for sending and receiving network signals between buildings. </li><li>Respond to Energy Management issues and problems escalated by customers (Faculty and Staff) while working with HVAC and other trade technicians to resolve complex building automation and mechanical deficiencies. </li><li>Provide direction to commission large DDC systems including the execution of pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests to verify that control system adheres to design intent. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
