Willing to listen with an open mind? </li><li>A problem solver who can work through sticking points and difficult conversations, holding yourself and team members to the highest standards of accountability? </li><li>Able to find opportunity in challenges, no matter how difficult, finding creative solutions? </li><li>Able to model sustainable practices to ensure an environmental conscious and productive culture (Ex: Recycle, reduce waste, optimize resources, and improve processes)? </li><li>Going to take ownership of your time with the department and strive for excellence? </li></ul> <p>THEN WE WANT YOU TO JOIN OUR TEAM!</p> <p>Your Role</p> <p>The Activity Center Leader-will support the implementation of Youth Opportunities office initiatives which includes Community Outreach activities and events including, but not limited to the following functions:</p> <p>rovide support to full-time Recreation Specialist I & Site Lead in the supervision of summer youth employment workers, volunteers, and interns working the Parks After Dark Program to include: set-up, programs and activities, customer inquiries and site clean-up.</p> <p>rovide onsite support to the arrival, set-up and program execution of all vendors, partnering stakeholders and planned activities at Parks After Dark</p> <p>Provide support to full-time Recreation Specialist I & Site Lead in the supervision of summer youth employment workers, volunteers, and interns working the Parks After Dark Program to include: set-up, programs and activities, customer inquiries and site clean-up.</p> <p>Provide onsite support to the arrival, set-up and program execution of all vendors, partnering stakeholders and planned activities at Parks After Dark</p> <p>Lead Part Time Staff in planning and implementing programs and activities that demonstrate a comprehensive and current understanding of issues, contributors to positive youth outcomes and quality of life concerns in Virginia Beach communities</p> <p>Operate vehicles to provide transportation for participants to special events or programs</p> <p>Assist with the maintenance of program supplies and inventory during Parks After Dark Program</p> <p>Assist with the investigation of accidents and incidents; follow protocol for reporting and documenting</p> <p>Assist the Recreation Specialist I in collecting data on program trends and participant outcomes; prepare and submit these and other reports as required.</p> <p>Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described.
