<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The instructor will teach content consistent with American Red Cross for:</p> <p>HFA 203--Responding to Emergencies--(Course Description) The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies: Comprehensive First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. This course meets the coaching First Aid and CPR requirements for First Aid. (2 Credits)</p> <p>and</p> <p>HFA 204 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation-- (Course Description) Taught under American Red Cross standards, this course offers professional rescuer certification. Students will learn to provide initial care for breathing and cardiac emergencies to adults, infants and children. Included: two-rescuer CPR, use of a resuscitation mask, bag-valve-mask and AED. The course is intended for public safety personnel, athletic trainers, lifeguards emergency response teams and health care professionals. (1 Credit)</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMIUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must have appropriate current certification to teach CPR/BLS/First Aid/CPR for the Professional Rescuer from American Red Cross or similar national certificating body and must maintain these credentials while employed. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26 academic year is $1,483/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment. </li><li>Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <ul> <li>To be considered, please submit a resume and cover letter at time of application, including availability to teach. </li><li>The three (3) references listed on the application must be professional references, and one of those must be a current or previous supervisor.
