As a leading employer in the Morristown area, the company maintains a state-of-the-art facility with a well-trained and stable workforce.</p> <p>What is the opportunity?</p> <p>Reporting to the Supervisor, Engineering (electrical), the Controls Apprentice learns and performs a variety of work, to include designing, programing, testing and troubleshooting PLC systems and industrial control panels. Enjoy respect and recognition for your contributions as we continue to innovate!</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.</p> <p>With guidance and training from the Electrical Engineer:</p> <ul> <li>Size and specify electrical components. </li><li>Design circuits for use in electrical control panels. </li><li>Create, test and load programs for Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs. </li><li>Perform electrical check out testing on industrial control panels and PLC systems. </li><li>Perform other general engineering related tasks as necessary. </li><li>Begin to learn and understand compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Solid working knowledge of NEC and UL508a. </li><li>Learn the process and basic customer service expectations to provide customer training on equipment controls and operation </li><li>Shadow customer visits when needed </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>The above are considered essential duties and are illustrative of those job tasks, which are fundamental. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>AS in Electrical Technology or similar. </li><li>Industrial Electricity Technology certificate </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Development of communication skills in collaborating with customers. </li><li>Ability to work as both a member of a team and individually to accomplish organizational and customer requirements and goals. </li><li>Must have working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Projects, and Access, etc. </li><li>Knowledge of PLC capabilities a plus. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. </li><li>Must be able to regularly travel to trade shows and manufacturing locations. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>This position must perform tasks that involve mainly office exposure, sitting behind a desk performing tasks on a computer. Most of their time, the employee will spend time in the office with low to moderate exposure to noise, heat, and cold environment, other physical requirements include walking, bending, hand dexterity, speaking, seeing, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
