<p>If you enjoy working with pre-K children, we have an exciting part time opportunity at our Dogwood Elementary and Christenberry Community Center location. What does this role do? The Pre-K Staff Youth Development Professional implements exciting activities and lessons to Pre-K club members to promote afterschool learning opportunities in a fun and safe environment.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach the fundamental concepts Pre-K club members need to know for kindergarten, such as identifying numbers and letters, socializing well with others, and working effectively in a classroom structure. </li><li>Provide them with the necessary tools in social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills to better prepare them for Kindergarten </li><li>Create opportunities for hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, and storytelling </li><li>Plan a curriculum that addresses early childhood education requirements </li><li>Instill a sense of respect and discipline, so that club members work effectively in a classroom setting </li><li>Ensure activity rooms is clean, safe, and well-organized </li><li>Communicate with parents and teachers to ensure that each club member is progressing according their needs </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Club per state and company standards. </li><li>Provide meals to youth per United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. </li><li>Provide mild disciplinary action to youth. </li><li>Supervise youth on school busses. </li><li>Attend Club programs, activities, field trips, and other special events. </li><li>Create bulletin boards for youth. </li><li>Orient volunteers to the Club, youth, and service opportunities. Oversee volunteers serving within the Club. </li></ul>
