<p>The Charter School of Educational Excellence's mission is to develop students who are critical thinkers, motivated leaders, and lifelong learners. Serving the City of Yonkers with a Kindergarten through 12th grade program. At CSEE, we are dedicated to fostering a robust partnership with our teachers, parents, and community. Our vision is centered on establishing a school with elevated expectations for every child, challenging each one to surpass the New York State Standards. To foster this vision, we adhere to the philosophy that every child should initially receive a solid foundation in reading, writing, and mathematics. Once these fundamentals are mastered, the child will possess a sturdy base for tackling skills that are more advanced and achieving high proficiency levels. We aim for every child to become a critical thinker and life-long learner. In pursuit of our vision, we seek a candidate with an MBA degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in operations or project management. The Charter School of Educational Excellence seeks a Director of Operations to provide leadership in managing our school's business operations and development initiatives. The Director of Operations is responsible for facilities management, finance, health and safety, student enrollment and records, transportation, meal service, technology, procurement, service contracts, audits, and event logistics. The Director of Operations assists the school leadership with all projects and activities that create a successful and safe school environment for students and staff. The Director of Operations will report directly to the Superintendent. Responsibilities & duties (including, but not limited to) Management and Leadership? Guide the evolution of the school's current and long-term operational strategy by overseeing all non-instructional operations? Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning, emphasizing an exceptional school culture by being highly present and visible during school hours? Collaborate with school leaders to implement an innovate strategic operational goals, enhancing the quality of educational services for students and families? Foster excellence in all areas of school operations through effective communication and collaboration with the school leadership team which includes, the Superintendent, Principals and Directors ? Provide direct supervision to the school-based Operations staff, including the Operations Manager, Operations Associate, Receptionist, the Child Nutrition Department, Facilities Department and contracted vendors, which include Security and the Technology Department. ? Manage vendor relationships such as those with maintenance contractors, transportation, building safety contractors, copier services, etc.School Administration & Project Management ? Ensure that the school is adhering to governmental laws and compliance and reporting requirements, as per calendars and guidelines provided by the NYS Education Department and Federal Education Department? Perform annual assessments of all contracts, verifying the existence of three competitive bids on file to uphold transparency and compliance standards? Manage all school emergency preparedness tasks, including planning, training and implementing logistics for the School Safety Plan, evacuation routes, safety drills, communication with staff, students and parents? Oversee office administration, including visitor management, safety protocols vendor relationships, equipment maintenance, mail distribution, and phone answering, creating a welcoming environment for students and visitors? Review all insurance policies, handle renewals, and ensure compliance measures are effectively implemented? Coordinate tech distribution, vendor communication, and conduct annual inventory assessments? Lead annual preparations for the new school year, organizing project plans, assigning tasks, and coordinating the procurement of furniture, equipment, and classroom supplies. Ensure readiness of school services, such as student food and transportation services ? Implement and oversee school transportation services and prepare bus routes and schedules for the arrival, departures, early or late pickup of students.? Support with planning and implementation of team-wide events including but not limited to professional development sessions, team-building events, and school-wide special events? Collaborate with school Leadership Team to ensure that all government and authorizer grant proposals and reports are completed on time? Ensure that the procurement of all materials, supplies and services necessary for efficient operation of the school are contracted in accordance with federal, state and department of education regulations, as well as Board of Trustee policies and procedures? Participate in parent-teacher conferences, committee meetings as needed and prepare monthly reports for Board MeetingsBudget & Finance ? Work with Board Finance Committee, Superintendent, Fiscal Contractor and School Leadership to develop and manage the school's budget? Submit quarterly district billing, keeping accurate and up-to-date records of student information? Ensure adherence to the school's fiscal policies and procedures, participating in the annual financial audit process? Participate in monthly budget review meetings with school leaders to assess and account for variances; monitor and report on the usage of school-based bank accounts? Coordinate on-site components of school financial systems such as purchase orders, payroll records, grant reports, and financial forms reports? Create or acquire software systems to monitor expenses? Coordinate purchase orders and check requests for vendors contracted to provide servicesStudent Enrollment & Services? Assist in the application process, covering recruitment, lottery, registration schedules, waitlist management and support school open houses, lottery events, parent-teacher conferences and student registration preparations? Assist in the design and placement of ads to recruit students? Oversee the New York State Child Nutrition Program, ensuring quality of control of daily food deliveries and completing monthly reporting? Participate in student health services, monitoring trends and coordinating with nursing staff for inventory and equipment needs? Oversee student transportation logistics, including yellow bus services and Metro Cards, maintaining a positive relationship with Public Works and Transportation? Plan and manage school events, including board meetings, ceremonies, open houses, special events, and field tripsChild Nutrition Program, Building Facilities & Maintenance Program? Administrative oversight including evaluation of staff and training as necessary.Asset Management? Implement systems to monitor inventory (Technology - Hardware and Software, Furniture, Student Resources - Books, Teaching Materials) including organization of storage spaces)Work experience & skills? At least 3 years of operations management experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment? Minimum 2 years work experience in a data management or similar environment? MBA degree required? Experience in a similar role in a traditional district or charter school is preferred? Experience with project-management and developing a long-term strategic plan? Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills? Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents colleagues, and community members? Proficiency in Google Platform, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and OutlookPersonal qualities & behavioral traits? Passionately dedicated to school's mission? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills? Strong verbal and written communication? Develops and maintains positive communications and working relationships with students, parents, and co-workers by being collaborative and maintaining a pleasant work attitude? Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures? Acute attention to detail coupled with the ability to think and act strategically? Excellent time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines? Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems? Comfort level with financial oversight and budgetary tracking to support strategic growth? Create and maintain an orderly, effective school organization? Experience managing cross-functional teams to develop and implement systems and processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of a growing organization? Openness to feedback?
