<p>General Job Information</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>This position is in the Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD), Department of Behavioral Health (DBH).</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>The incumbent serves as a Social Worker and provides services which include intake, psychological assessments, mental health risk assessments, treatment, and recommendations for out-placement, and aftercare services. The incumbent monitors consumer progress and delivers appropriate services to consumers as a member of the Medication Management Team. Assesses consumers, establishes counseling goals and objectives in relation to the psychiatric examination and recommends treatment to clients. Provides medically necessary mental health rehabilitative core services to patients under supervision, including Assessment, Counseling, as well as appropriate specialty services such as Crisis/Emergency intervention as needed. The incumbent participates in the development and implementation of the consumer's Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) and Individual Services Support Plan (ISSP).</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Candidates must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience experiences, which have equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled.</p> <p>Must be proficient in EHRs, CRISP, Medicaid Portal and/or HMIS. The Department of Behavioral Health uses the credible iCAMS system for electronic health medical record documentation.</p> <p>LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS</p> <p>Applicants must be a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW, through the D.C. Department of Health, Health Professional Licensing Administration.</p> <p>EDUCATION</p> <p>Applicants must have successfully completed a course of study in an accredited School of Social Work and have fulfilled all the requirements for the master's degree in social work (MSW).</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>The work is performed in an office, consumer residencies, and in community-based facilities and settings in the District of Columbia metropolitan area. Travel is required inside and outside of the Metropolitan Washington area, for visits to private residences, residential facilities, community agencies, and other public and private organizations.</p> <p>The incumbent is exposed to potentially dangerous situations and is subject to possible physical attack from emotionally disturbed, hostile, volatile, or uncooperative clients and the families in high risk or high crime areas.
