We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.</p> <p>Pulmonary Vascular Disease Lab</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Working independently and under general supervision from a Research Manager and Principal Investigator, provides support to clinical research studies. Will be working on clinical research studies focused primarily on pulmonary vascular disease.</p> <p>The position may include being responsible for the following activities: preparing and submitting IRB submissions, pre-screen patients of suitability of potential participants for clinical trials, assisting in the development and implementing patient recruitment strategies, data collection, and seeing research subjects in the CTC at times.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates the implementation, both internally and externally, of sponsored clinical research studies. </li><li>Working in concert with Principal Investigator, develops and implements patient recruitment strategies. </li><li>Recruits and evaluates potential study patients. </li><li>Per protocol instruction, conducts telephone interviews or schedules patient for study visit and screening. </li><li>May be required to perform clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc. -Maintains contact with study participants and coordinates study visits to obtain protocol required tests/procedures </li></ul> <p>Answers any phone calls and inquiries regarding study protocol. Refers participants when appropriate to supervisor or clinical staff.</p> <ul> <li>Develops, organizes, and/or maintains detailed clinical and research databases. May use programs such as excel and REDCap. </li><li>Responsible for collecting data and maintaining patient information database for study. </li><li>May be required to input data, do basic data analysis and run various reports. </li><li>Maintains patients' records as part of record keeping function. </li></ul> <p>In conjunction with Principal Investigator, develops and implements new research protocols including design, data collection systems and institutional review board approval.</p> <ul> <li>Assisting with collection of regulatory documents for clinical studies and maintaining regulatory binder. </li><li>Recommends changes to research protocols and manages modifications to institutional review board protocols. </li><li>Performs literature searches, as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Performs basic laboratory testing on human blood and urine samples after training.</p> <p>Assists PI with preparation for presentation and written published articles. Orders lab supplies and equipment as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues. -Attends meetings as required. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li><li>Responsible for supervision of research team </li></ul> <p>Act as a liaison between Research Assistants and the PI</p> <p>Additional Job Details (if applicable)</p> <p>College graduate or bachelor's degree</p> <p>At least one year of work experience in a clinical research setting. Sound independent judgement and competence in research methodologies.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants. </li><li>Good oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results. </li><li>Knowledge of clinical research protocols. </li><li>High degree of computer literacy. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. </li><li>Careful attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects rights and individual needs. </li><li>Knowledge of data management programs. </li><li>Comfortable approaching patients in a clinical and inpatient setting for study recruitment. </li><li>Comfortable with pulmonary and cardiac anatomy and ability to learn disease sates related to pulmonary-heart disease. </li><li>Experience in clinical research, public health, or clinical setting (at least one year) </li><li>Two year commitment preferred. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Professional office setting at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
