<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Director of Athletics & Student Affairs Northwestern Regional School District No. 7 Reports to: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>Job Summary The Director of Athletics and Student Affairs at Northwestern Regional School District No. 7 is a dynamic leadership position responsible for fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered school culture. This role oversees all aspects of the district's athletic programs and student activities while promoting academic success, leadership development, and community engagement among students. The Director serves as a key connector between students, staff, families, and the broader community, ensuring that extracurricular opportunities align with district priorities and enhance the overall student experience. In addition to leading athletics and activities, the Director plays an integral role in student support systems, working collaboratively with administration, counselors, and families to address student needs and improve engagement and attendance. The position requires a proactive leader who can manage operations, develop long-term strategic initiatives, and cultivate a positive, supportive environment that empowers all students to succeed.</p> <p>ATHLETICS</p> <ul> <li>Monitor student-athlete academic progress; collaborate with building and district administrators on interventions and alignment with school priorities. Oversee evaluation, development, and mentorship of coaching staff, team captains, and student leaders. </li><li>Serve as brand manager for NWR7 Athletics, including communication, promotion, marketing, fundraising, website, and social media presence. Coordinate athletic events, schedules, supervision, transportation, and league/CIAC relations and compliance. </li><li>Act as liaison to parents, alumni, and community partners. Lead awards ceremonies, Hall of Fame inductions, alumni nights, and community outreach initiatives. Develop and implement a long-term vision for athletic facilities and related improvements. Review and revise the student-athlete handbook. </li></ul> <p>Student Activities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee student clubs and activities, collaborating with advisors on scheduling, facilities use, and event facilitation. </li><li>Maintain the student activities calendar and handbook outlining clubs, processes, and expectations. </li><li>Coordinate major student events, including pep rallies, dances, fundraisers, and class officer elections. </li><li>Serve as liaison for clubs and advisors for activities occurring outside school hours. </li><li>Evaluate student activities programming to ensure effective use of resources, including an annual audit. </li><li>Collaborate with building principals, central office, and business office to ensure alignment with school priorities and timely advisor stipend payments. </li></ul> <p>Student Support</p> <ul> <li>Works with students to resolve lower-level disciplinary infractions.Collaborates with staff, administration, families, and students to support student success. Oversees attendance procedures with administration and works to improve school and class attendance. </li><li>Partners with counselors, social workers, and support staff to provide comprehensive student support. Assists in developing and implementing school policies and procedures. Leads café duty coverage and facilitates detentions and/or ISS. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>092 Certification Required Experience in athletics, coaching, and supervision of student activities and/or athletics required. </li><li>Demonstrates an ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including coaches, school and district level administrators, parents, and students.
