<p>Mitchell College is building on its long history of making education more accessible by pioneering an entirely new approach which is flexible, strength-based, and interest driven. Our ability-based approach to learning focuses on teaching adaptability through a core academic discipline curriculum, which provides multiple opportunities for students to apply skills in different learning and professional contexts. To keep this model innovative, vibrant and responsive to students' interests, we need instructors and faculty who are experienced in building cross-disciplinary collaborations between areas of interest, both in our core curriculum and in dynamic new concentrations of study. This revolutionary approach to learning ensures students learn the adaptive skills they need to live life well, both professionally and personally.</p> <p>The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the Dean of Student Experience and Belonging (DESB)/Student Affairs Division for effective operation of the Division and all of its functions. S/He will work closely with the DSEB to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, time frames and budgets for projects and new initiatives. Additionally, the Administrative Coordinator will perform various coordinating tasks, like scheduling and event planning, along with administrative duties like maintaining project documentation, assessments and handling external communications.</p> <p>The Administrative Coordinator for Student Affairs is responsible for supporting efforts by the college to create an environment of acceptance and belonging for all community members. As such, it is expected that s/he understands and supports the mission of the college, works to create an exceptional living and learning environment, builds relationships, facilitates student development, and encourages active participation by all community members through his/her actions and practices. The position requires an ability to promote student success; provide leadership for positively managing a diverse campus community; and must be able to collaborate professionally with other departments, and is expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion in all communications.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the daily operation of the Student Affairs/DSEB's office. </li><li>Maintains the DSEB's appointment calendar and composes and prepares routine correspondence. </li><li>Serves as point of contact and resource on behalf of Student Affairs Departments and responds to information inquiries. Acts as initial contact person for calls from parents, students and other community members. </li><li>Serves as an Intake Coordinator for Student Complaints, maintains administrative files for Title IX and appeals Board. </li><li>Prepares business office forms (webportal, requisitions, payment requests, UCM) and maintains the Departmental Credit Card (including reconciling receipts and charges). </li><li>Organizes student forms for DSEB's signature and distributes completed forms to copied recipients. </li><li>Prepare all required reports, records and evaluations promptly and accurately as assigned. </li><li>Navigates Blackbaud student database, Mitchell Website, and helps maintain Symplicity systems (Advocate, Residence, Unihub, Career). </li><li>Helps prepare for Board of Trustees Meetings and presentations. </li><li>Collects revisions for the College Course Catalog and Code of Conduct. </li><li>Prepares and submits PAF's for student affairs positions and keeps payroll apprised of any staffing and salary changes. </li><li>Develop and maintain project plans and schedules as assigned by the DSEB. </li><li>Responsible for Team Coordination and Communications </li><li>Serves as Commuter Student Liaison and advises the Commuter Student Association. </li><li>Gathers data for research projects </li><li>Be highly visible, maintain office hours, serve on institutional committees as directed by DSEB. </li><li>Maintains a master student affairs calendar and student leader listing. </li><li>Plans, prepares for the Honors and Awards Ceremony in concert with the Academic Affairs Administrative Coordinator. </li><li>Serves as a member of the Commencement planning committee and assists with the ceremony. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>This position will require climbing up and down stairs to execute routine job functions and ability to lift 20 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Required/Preferred Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree in Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or Higher Education is preferred. </li><li>3-5 years in an administrative or project management role. </li><li>Knowledge of and experience in working with students who have learning differences and/or are on the spectrum is desired. </li><li>Must be comfortable working in a professional office setting, with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, ability to prioritize, work independently, and pay close attention to detail. Individuals who are able to work in a continuously changing organization and are highly motivated are best suited for this position. </li><li>Enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility required. </li><li>Must be willing to actively engage in professional development; projects may require learning new programs. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience:</p> <p>Service in a high-demand, multifunction office with the ability to interact with many people.</p> <p>Key Skills/Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to learn new technology, </li><li>Diplomacy, tact, efficiency, ability to self-direct. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Organized and effective at prioritizing and completing tasks. </li></ul>
