<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Student Jobs Program (Learn & Earn)</p> <p>Unit: Non Union - Non- Benefitted, Part Time</p> <p>Reports To: Department Supervisor (Varies by Placement)</p> <p>Expected Start Date: Ongoing Hiring</p> <p>Job Tier: Entry-Level / Intermediate / Advanced (Varies by Rolee feedback to support both job performance and career readiness.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Student employees will support departmental operations across Roxbury Community College while gaining valuable work experience. Assignments vary by department but are designed to develop professional competencies aligned with students' academic and career goals.</p> <p>Students will engage in meaningful work that contributes to RCC operations while building skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professionalism.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities: (Varies by department; may include but are not limited to:)</p> <ul> <li>Provide general support to assigned department </li><li>Assist with front desk operations, including greeting and directing students, faculty, and visitors </li><li>Support data entry, filing, and record maintenance (physical and/or digital) </li><li>Assist with event coordination, workshops, or campus programming </li><li>Respond to emails, phone calls, or internal inquiries in a professional manner </li><li>Utilize RCC systems and platforms (e.g., Navigate360, Handshake, Microsoft Office tools) as needed </li><li>Support outreach, communication, and student engagement efforts </li><li>Complete assigned projects and tasks within established timelines </li><li>Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities </li><li>Maintain confidentiality and adhere to college policies and procedures </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Must be currently enrolled in:</p> <p>At least 6 credit hours, OR</p> <p>A Professional Education certificate/credential program, OR</p> <p>ESOL Level 4 or higher</p> <p>Must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States</p> <p>Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, a Professional Education certificate/credentialling programs, or ESOL Level 4 course. </li><li>Must demonstrate the ability to work in the United States </li></ul> <p>Professional Development Expectations</p> <p>As part of the Learn & Earn model, student employees are expected to:</p> <p>Participate in career readiness workshops (PD 101 / PD 102 or equivalent)</p> <p>Engage in regular supervisor check-ins and feedback sessions</p> <p>Develop and update a professional resume and/or portfolio</p> <p>Reflect on skill development and career goals throughout employment</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>All students are required to take part in an onboarding process facilitated by the Office of Human Resources and Office of Career Services. These workshops are intended to help answer questions students have related to their work, pay, and policies.
