<p>Tutors will be responsible for tutoring Rowan College of South Jersey students seeking help in the subject for which the peer tutor was hired. Tutors will provide help with course material, suggest study and testing strategies, and suggest supplemental study materials.</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Meets with students in tutoring sessions or on a small-group basis to provide learning assistance. </li><li>Explains material to students utilizing a variety of learning strategies. </li><li>Maintains a weekly schedule of available hours in the Academic Support Center for student appointments for content course and/or learning strategies. </li><li>Keep regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions using the TutorTrac software and Tutoring Log. </li><li>Contacts instructor of class(es) when appropriate to obtain any necessary course syllabi or materials. </li><li>Participates in tutor-training sessions. </li><li>Attends all staff meetings and professional development sessions. </li><li>Follows policies and procedures of department and RCSJ. </li><li>Assists with additional duties such as covering front desk, answering phones, organizing materials, and performing other clerical duties. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Earned "A" in course(s) interested in tutoring </li><li>3.0 minimum GPA </li><li>Good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds </li><li>Sensitivity and desire to help fellow students </li><li>Work ethic that involves responsibility, reliability, and punctuality </li><li>Appropriate and professional conduct is required </li></ul> <p>COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for all positions at Rowan College of South Jersey.
