<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsible for operating heavy equipment related to treated cross ties, switch ties and bridge timbers. Responsible for all fueling, care, and maintenance of their equipment, as well as compliance with all company, local, and Federal safety laws. Works closely with all employees from Laborers to management and has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <ul> <li>Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner </li><li>Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment </li><li>Other construction related duties as required </li><li>Responsible for properly maintaining equipment and notifying supervisor of any mechanical issues that need to be addressed </li><li>Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment </li><li>Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary </li></ul> <p>Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements</p> <ul> <li>1 year of experience running heavy equipment </li><li>Open to working 2nd or 3rd shift </li><li>Ability to work overtime </li><li>Intermediate tablet/smart phone skills </li><li>Basic math skills (addition, subtractions) </li><li>Experience working in small teams </li><li>Working weekends </li></ul> <p>Candidate Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent preferred </li></ul> <p>Koppers Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
