<p>Job Description:</p> <p>A study group is a great way to work collaboratively with others to consolidate and learn concepts to understand the information. The main role of a study group leader is to guide their team towards an end goal. As a study group leader, they are responsible for creating a collaborative study environment, determining the direction of the study session, and encouraging participation.</p> <p>Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct weekly study groups totaling a minimum of five (5) hours each week for students in a respective program or a specific class. </li><li>Monitor a specific Microsoft Team established for the cohorts of student in that program. </li><li>Work closely with the Student Navigator for that program to promote the study group. </li><li>Connect students with campus resources & events as needed. </li><li>Other tasks assigned by the work study supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid FAFSA on file </li><li>Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA </li><li>Must be matriculated into a program </li><li>Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours) </li><li>Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program </li><li>Successfully completed at least fifteen (15) credit hours at OCC. </li><li>Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Familiar with D2L Brightspace, OCC e-mail, Microsoft Office and applicable software the specific college program utilizes. </li><li>Dependable </li><li>A positive faculty recommendation that can be included in the job application or sent to Ted Mathews at: mathewst@sunyocc.edu </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Pay Rate: Starting rate of $15.50 for new Federal Work Studies. </li></ul> <p>Starting rate of $16.75 for returning Federal Work Studies</p> <ul> <li>Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm </li></ul> <p>To see if you qualify for Federal Work Study (FWS) Position:</p> <p>Visits OCC's Work-Study Page</p> <p>Review the Work- Study Checklist & complete and submit the Work Study Interest Form</p> <p>Or visit the Financial Aid Service Center (FASC) located in Gordon Student Center open Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm</p> <p>Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.</p> <p>Additional hours may be worked during college breaks.</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>To be considered, please submit a resume and provide the days and times you are available to work.</p> <p>If you need assistance creating a resume, please contact the Career Services Center at: 315-498-2585</p>
