<p>Job Title Graduate Assistant for the Cutler Scholars Program Special Instructions to Applicants Posting Number 20161530STD Job Description</p> <p>About the Cutler Scholars Program</p> <p>The Cutler Scholars Program mission is to provide socially-engaged students with institutional resources, intellectual community, and experiences that will develop their leadership skills. Each year we select about 15 new Cutler Scholars, who receive a 4-year scholarship and stipends to support a series of four individually-designed experiential learning experiences: an outdoor leadership experience, public service internship, professional internship, and work or study abroad. The Cutler Scholars Program is a designated Ohio Honors Program.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>This position will allow the GA to gain experience and develop skills in student programming, recruitment and selection, advising, alumni relations, and general program management.</p> <p>Specific responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the planning and implementation of the First-Year Retreat & Senior Retreat </li><li>Assist with the scholar selection process which may include communicating with school counselors, attending admissions events, reading applications, coordinating interview day logistics, etc. </li><li>Assist with the facilitation of the Enrichment Program by helping to plan student workshops and providing individual advising. </li><li>Advise Cutler Council. Cutler Council is a registered student organization that organizes Scholar events and activities. </li><li>Plan internal and external communication projects such as student and alumni newsletters, social media campaigns, etc. </li><li>Assist with coordination of special events such as Homecoming, Finals Week Scholar Social, Senior Mentor Dinner, Cutler Scholar Advisory Board, etc. </li></ul> <p>Note: Graduate Assistant will have an active role in the First-Year Retreat which takes place the week prior to the start of the fall semester.</p> <p>This assistantship is for 2025-2026 academic year with the potential to continue through the 2026-2027 academic year.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Must be a graduate student applying/enrolled at the Ohio University Athens campus</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Department Honors Tutorial College Pay Rate</p> <p>$14,500 stipend</p> <p>In previous years, tuition waivers have been available to students in the Patton College of Education. Tuition waivers are made available to students enrolled in specific academic programs and colleges.
