This position is full-time in-person.</p> <p>VP Area Academic Affairs Department 00127 - Physics and Astronomy Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range 41,220 to 50,556 Close Date 10/31/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) 08/04/2025 Job Summary</p> <p>Under the supervision of the departments' Administrative Manager, this position will work in the newly renovated Stewart and L. S. Skaggs Applied Science Buildings to support graduate programs for both the Department of Atmospheric Sciences and the Department of Physics and Astronomy.</p> <p>In this role, you will coordinate a diverse population of students regarding their academic planning and progress. This position will assist the University in promoting a climate that cultivates and sustains transformative practices by forging spaces of possibility where people feel safe, valued, welcomed, and respects all students in their quest for individual success through graduate degree programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and organize graduate student admissions and recruitment (Slate) </li><li>Graduate student advising and progress management including record keeping and graduation tracking </li><li>Coordinate international graduate student visas and travel </li><li>Plan graduate student orientation and events </li><li>Departmental liaison and communications for the Graduate School, college-wide fellowships, other opportunities </li><li>Graduate Student Advisory Committee (GSAC) oversight </li><li>Calendaring and support for Directors of Graduate Studies </li></ul> <p>This job description is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).</p> <p>Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills</p> <p>Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.</p> <p>Preferences Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
