<p>Physical Therapist</p> <p>SY 2025-2026</p> <p>Weymouth Public Schools is a dynamic and inclusive learning community dedicated to "Educational Excellence for Every Weymouth Student." Our vision is centered on empowering each individual to reach their full potential in a diverse, equitable, and supportive environment.</p> <p>We educate over 5,600 students in 11 school buildings, including Weymouth Early Childhood Center, eight elementary schools (grades K-5), Chapman Middle School (grades 6-8), and Weymouth High School (Grades 9-12). At each of our schools, we are committed to fostering curiosity, celebrating diversity, and nurturing a lifelong passion for learning. Our highly qualified educators and staff members work to provide personalized attention and support to ensure that every student thrives.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Physical Therapist provides specialized services to support the physical development and mobility needs of students (ages 3-22) in educational settings. The therapist evaluates motor skills, designs individualized therapy plans, and works closely with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure students can access and participate in early learning environments.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Hold an appropriate license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals as a Physical Therapist</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred Master's Degree in Physical Therapy</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in delivering physical therapy services in the public school setting; and</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, educational experience, school-level involvement and/or system-wide professional activities, and the interview process.</p> </li></ol> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Evaluate and assess students referred for special education eligibility determination</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement effective programs of intervention for Special Education students</p> </li><li> <p>Develop IEP goals, benchmarks and assessment methods to monitor a student's progress in the educational area identified requiring intervention</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with all building liaisons, principals and teachers to determine eligibility, need for level, and/or continuation of physical therapy service</p> </li><li> <p>Carefully monitor student progress toward achievement of goals, and effectively communicate to the TEAM termination of services where appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Develop programs for efficiently delivering physical therapy services and managing available resources</p> </li><li> <p>Keep thorough and confidential records for the individual students receiving physical therapy</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with parents classroom teachers, and other staff as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Participate at team meetings where students have been recommended for or are currently receiving physical therapy services</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee</p> </li></ol> <p>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p> <p>Weymouth Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.</p>
